PANJIM: Sporting Clube de Goa and Goa Velha Sports Club were caught up in a surprise as the Goa Football Association match officials failed to report to hold the GFA U-16 North Group A match, at the Pilar ground, on Thursday.
Both teams reported for the match as scheduled, however there was no sign of any organisers or the match officials even much after the kick-off time of 4 p.m, stated Sporting Clube in a press release, here.
Further, the club said that the ground was not even made ready for the match as there were no nets for the goal posts.
“This has happened even after a clear cut revised draw was circulated just five days back and makes a mockery of the efforts and resources put in by the clubs to organise the logistics and prepare and put their team on the field,” the release added.
