Sporting Clube sign off with win; Mohammedan in semis

AGENCIES, NEW  DELHI: Sporting Clube de Goa defeated Speed Force in the final group game 8-5 and were tied on 6 points along with BFC who suffered defeat against KFC in their final league game.

Sporting started their onslaught as early as first minute with Rohit Totad firing in the first and then soon gave a two goals cushion in the sixth minute. 

Speed Force clawed back in the 11th minute with a strike and then levelled terms in the 13th minute through Shubham.

However, Sporting Clube weren’t ready to settle down and scored once again in the next minute through Lloyd. Sporting keeper Ozen Silva who was outstanding throughout the campaign in goal scored a stunning goal for his side. Lloyd then scored the fifth in the 21st minute and Rohit scored the team’s sixth. Speed Force pulled a goal back through Fardeen and then Ibrham scored another consolation goal for Speed Force. However Rohit Totad scored the next goal. Wase pulled a late goal for Speed Force.

A game where Mohammedan SC had the opportunity to become the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the Hero Futsal Club Championship, the team from Kolkata came out with flying colours as they defeated Chanmari Zothan by a margin of 5-1.

Filbert Pereira opened the scoring for Mohammedan SC on the 11th minute mark. 

After the break, the floodgates opened when Filbert scored his second of the game in the 22nd minute to give his side a much needed cushion. Hilton Fernandes and Snedden made the most out of those spaces as they scored a goal each, stretching their team’s lead to 4 goals.

Roluahpuia pulled one back for the side from Mizoram but it was just a consolation goal for them. Filbert in the end, put the icing on the cake for Mohammedan SC by scoring a goal in the 38th minute and completing his hat-trick.
