PANJIM: Sporting Clube de Goa take on Vasco Sports Club in their final fixture of GFA U-20 TACA Goa at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Monday.
Sporting Clube have been undefeated throughout the tournament and will come out hoping to finish it in style. “The equation is simple; we have to win this match to win the title. It’s completely in our hands and that is definitely a good situation to be in,” said Sporting Clube coach Norbert.
Sporting Clube will be hoping that their inform striker Akeraj Martins can continue his fine run into the final match. Throughout the tournament, Sporting Clube have displayed some fine attacking football with their forward trio creating nightmares for the rival defenders.
When asked about the team’s preparation ahead of the key clash, Norbert said, “We are all prepared for Monday’s match, the boys trained well. Mood within the camp is positive, the boys are eager to play.”
He further added, “We had a long team talk on Saturday; I could feel the positivism within the players. The boys are aware that all the hard work, all the dedication they have put in have come down to this point, we need three points and that’s all we would be looking for Monday.”
About the opponents, he said, “Vasco SC are a fairly decent side with some promising players that can make difference. we need to make sure that we can contain them.”
