MAPUSA: Sporting Clube de Goa coach Oscar Bruzon has made it clear that his side will attack right from the word go against Shillong Lajong FC in a I-League clash at the Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Tuesday.

Sporting Clube have targeted full points from their next two matches (the other being against Prayag United) at Duler’s artificial turf but the coach said the strategy for both matches will be totally different.

“I have no doubt that we have to attack Shillong Lajong. We have to try and score right from the opening whistle and I am confident that we can get the best possible result if we play an attacking game. There cannot be any other plan,” said the Spanish coach.

Sporting Clube fought back from a goal and player down against Air India in the previous match for a 1-1 result and the coach believes it is this quality that has convinced him that the club is meant for better things.

“We did a great job in the last game. The attitude was good,” said Bruzon.

Guinea defender Keita Boubacar will miss the Lajong clash due to suspension. Nigerian striker Richard Obiora has also been released, depriving Sporting of two foreign players. The coach, however, preferred to focus on what is available with him at the moment.

“We will sign players when the transfer window opens but for now I have 24 players who are exceptional. They are all talented and can do the job for us,” said Bruzon.

Shillong Lajong have failed to impress in the two matches they have played in Goa, losing both of them by heavy margins. The clash against Churchill Brothers in the last match (lost 0-6) at the same venue would hurt coach Desmond Bulpin.

Shillong Lajong are currently placed 12th with 10 points from 14 matches.

Only United Sikkim with a point less are below them in the points tally.

The kick-off is at 3.45 p.m.
