PANJIM: A first half brace by Glevito Miranda helped Sporting Clube de Goa to a register convincing 5-0 victory over Fr Agnel, Pilar in GFA under-14 Ilhas zone play-off finals at Santa Cruz ground, Tuesday. Sporting Clube led 3-0 at the interval. Sporting Clube were on attacking mode right from the word go as Gleston Botelho released Glevito, who went solo and dribbled past three rival defenders before netting the opener.
Two minutes later, Aaryan Gonsalves headed in a cross from Chandan Gupta to double the lead.
Sporting Clube enjoyed the lion’s share of ball possession as they found themselves three up after Glevito played a return pass with Eustace Pereira, before completing his brace.
After resumption, Sporting Clube continued their dominance as Aaryan sent Aldred Fernandes racing through on goal to beat the onrushing rival goalkeeper.
Dwayne Britto’s delightful strike from the edge of the box made it 5-0.
The Flaming Oranje juniors will now play the North zone finals.
