Sporting Clube de Goa weren’t at their best against Panjim. They lacked creativity, attacking intent and moreover a desire to score. However, the second half was different for Flaming Oranje and it was all due to one change—the introduction of Sporting Clube de Goa’s Akeraj Martins in the game. The striker brought pace, creativity and a much-needed desire to score in the game.
Akeraj terrorised the right flank as he outwitted the opposition and broke in the rival box. Stepovers, cutbacks and accurate passing in the box helped Sporting Clube de Goa score the second through Marcus.
However, there was more as the quick-feet who assisted the second goal, scored the team’s third with a neat placement.
The Sporting Clube de Goa academy product is turning to be a potential threat to their opponents as this is his second good game in as many outings as his previous match against Churchill Brothers also was his best.
