NEW DELHI, AUG 3
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will decide when the I-League will kick-off for the 2010-11 season on Wednesday when all the clubs meet alongwith the local organising committees at a meeting to be chaired by Praful Patel, AIFF president.
The AIFF sent in a letter last week to the local organising committees enquiring whether the grounds are available for matches starting September.
A draw was also sent alongside with no dates or timings mentioned but it had a total of 14 teams with the AIFF XI side replacing Mahindra United.
The names of Sporting Clube de Goa and Shillong Lajong were missing from the provisional fixture list due to being relegated. With the matter of their inclusion in the I-League up for debate yet to take place, it does hint that the chances of them making into the elite list are slim. Why would the tentative draws be then sent to the state associations?
Mumbai FC and Viva Kerala who are yet to form a squad are also part of the fixture list which shall come as a relief for their fans.
With East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Pune FC refusing to send  their players to the AIFF XI team, the matter shall be debated upon in the meeting as well. (Goal.Com)
