MAPUSA: A brace from Keenan Dias put Sporting Clube de Goa on the way to a 5-0 victory over Fr Agnelo Youth club, Pilar at Don Bosco ground, on Monday. Sporting led 4-0 at the interval.

In the opening minutes, Keenan Dias struck from 30 yards out to give Sporting the lead. Keenan was on target again as he tapped in the second.

Dwayne Britto was lucky to score, as his long range effort was deflected offa defender and ended up wrong footing the goalkeeper as it swung into the goal.

Before the break, Dwayne turned provider, as his pass allowed Ronaldo Dias to net the fourth for Sporting.

After resumption, Ryan d’Costa shot a stiff grounder from far for Sporting’s fifth. Sporting could have further added to the lead, but Jonathan Cardoso saw his penalty come off the crossbar.

Fr Agnelo did not play so badly, but had goalkeeping difficulties as they decided to experiment with six different onfield players during the course of the game.

At Tembi ground, Anjuna, Anjuna Gymkhana played out a goalless draw with Holiday Sports Club, Arpora.
