Veterans soccer at D Bosco’s

PANJIM: Friends Sporting Club, Corlim will organise their 3rd annual all-Goa Friends Sporting 2012 Veterans Soccer tournament from February18 to March 24 at Don Bosco School ground, here.

Cash prizes, trophies, individual prizes will be awarded. Matches will be held on Saturdays and Sundays and other holidays.

Veteran players born on or before December 31, 1971 are eligible. Besides, two players above 30, those born on or before December 31, 1980 will be allowed.

Top 12 teams will be selected. Teams may submit entries to Derryl D’Souza, president of the club on 9689939826, Frankie Mascarenhas, organising secretary on 8888739511, Manuel D’Souza, treasurer on 9225935955 latest by February 14.

Chandor Veterans soccer

MARGAO: Chandor Veterans will organise their 1st all- Goa Veterans football tournament at Chandor church ground in February/March. It will be held under the chairmanship of Clefacio Dias.

The winners and runners up will be awarded Rs 25,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. Players born on or before

1-1-1971 will be eligible. Original birth certificate/driving licence/passport will be accepted as ID proof.

Lions sports meet

MAPUSA: The Lions Zone XX sports meet for underprivileged children will be held on February 12 at St. Joseph High School ground, Calangute at 2.30 p.m. is is being hosted by Lions Club of Calangute in collaboration with Lions Club of Assagao,  Anjuna,  Arpora Nagoa, Mapusa suburban and Ribandar.

In all, 200 underprivileged children from Moving School Arpora, Don Bosco Calangute, El Shaddai Assagao, Institute of Public Assistance Candolim, St. Joseph Boys Home Calangute and Vivian Niwas Siolim will participate.

Tie-breaker at Betalbatim

PANJIM: Lourdes Social Association will organise their 1st all-Goa one-a-side and 3-a-side tie-breaker at Thondwaddo, Betalbatim on February 12 at 10 a.m.

Referees fitness test

PANAJI: A fitness test for referees who did not appear or failed in the last Cooper Test conducted by Goa Football Association will be held on February 26 at 7 a.m at university ground, Taleigao. New entrants who appeared for the examination held on January 22 have been asked also to appear for the test.

Exhibition match at Divar

PANJIM: CDJ Ribander will clash with Divar Youth in an exhibition football match on the occasion of St Mathias feast on February 12 at Sao Mathias village panchayat ground, at 4.30 p.m.

Chandor Club AGM

MARGAO: The annual general body meeting-cum-election of Chandor Club will be held at at Chandor Cavorim village panchayat hall on February 12 at 10 a.m.
