Bench press trials at Ponda
PANJIM: The trials to select the Goa squad for national bench press championship from February 22 to 26 in Jamshedpur will be organized by Goa Super Bodies Powerlifting Association on January 21 at Sports Complex Gym, Ponda, at 4 p.m.
Categories – Sub-junior (14-18 years), junior (19-23 years), senior: Master 1 (+40), master 2 (+50), master 3 (+60), master 5 (+70). The weight categories will be up to 53kg, 59kg, 66kg, 74kg, 83kg, 93kg, 105kg, 120kg, 120+kg.

Mini marathon at Campal
PANJIM: The 3rd mini marathon race for under-10 and under-15 years boys and girls organized by Panjim Football and Cultural Association in association with Goa Senior Journalists Association will be held on January 25 at SAG ground, Campal, at 8 a.m.
Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 will be awarded to the winners of all the four categories.
Those interested may report at the venue at 7.30 a.m. with their birth certificates. Schools interested in sending their students may submit the list of participants with their birth certificates to Custodio de Araujo (9637716096) PFCA’s president by January 23.
Floodlit basketball at Siolm
PANJIM: The all-Goa inter-institutional staff floodlit basketball tournament organized by SFX High School, Siolim as part of their Platinum Jubilee Celebration will be held on January 30, from 6 p.m.
