PANJIM: The touring Sportsweek colts went down fighting to YPS Academy on Tuesday in a 40 overs game played at YPS school ground, Mohali.
YPS Academy, consisting of three U-16 State players, winning the toss and batting first scored 233 all down in 35 overs with a splendid knock of 73 by Abhimanyu Singha.
Rajkaran Baidwan (25), Prasad Abhinav (20), Aman Gundu (20) batted well for YPS Academy. Heramb Parab 3-27 was pick of the bowlers. Rutvik Naik, Aniruddha Bhat and Pralav Kerkar took 2 wkts each.
In reply, Sportsweek colts who were 97-1 in 12th over with a sudden collapse reached 120-7 and were all out for 197 in 34th over. Agildas Alambata 33, Sahil Naik 29, Tunish Sawkar 21 and Nagappa Konnur 28 were the only batsman who reached double figures.
Fine bowling by Abhimanyu Singha 3-26 and Jaskaran Singh 3-30 shattered the Sportsweek batting line up. Manish Sharma took two wickets. Abhimanyu Singha was declared Man of the match for his all round performance of 73 and 3-26.
