Sreebhumi FC crowned IWL2 champs

MAPUSA: Sreebhumi FC registered a well deserved 2-0 win over Pudhuvai Unicorn-Pondicherry to be crowned champs of Indian Women’s League 2 Division organised by GFA held at Duler stadium, here, under floodlights.

Sreebhumi FC and Pudhuvai Unicorn both having seven points came strongly into the match as only a win would help them to qualify for next season IWL 1st Division.

After a barren first session, which was equally contested, Sreebhumi managed to score twice through Rimpa Haldan (62nd) and Mousumi Murmu (87th minute) on crossing ends.

Sreebhumi FC having defeated Nita Football Academy-Odisha in the league match enabled them to top the league table and promotion to IWL 1st Division Cluster.

Nita Football Academy-Odisha on Tuesday defeated SAG Football Academy-Gujarat by 8-1 margin and also with 10 points, already qualified for the coming season IWL 1st Division Cluster.
