PANJIM: SS Angle Higher Secondary School boys cricket team won the bronze medal by defeating V.S. Dempo Hr. Sec. School, Panjim by 55 runs in the inter HSS cricket tournament organised by Directorate of sports and youth affairs, at Government. Sports Complex, Chicalim, on Tuesday.
After winning the toss Angle HSS decided to bat first and scored 172 runs by losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. Aman Komarpant scored highest runs of 68 not out. Sankesh Bhagat scored 45 runs while Kartik Satarkar contributed 16 runs.
For Dempo HSS Harish and Hrishikesh took one wicket each.
In reply, Dempo HSS managed to score only 117 runs and lost 8 wickets in twenty overs.
Aman’s superb spell of 4 overs 4 wkts by sparing 11 runs made difficult to Dempo HSS to reach the target.
Sankesh, Pankaj and Chandrashekhar took one wkt each. For Dempo HSS.
Sanat scored 39 runs while Altaf scored 12 runs, Uraj contributed 09 runs.
