PANJIM: St Anne’s Institute emerged champions of the 1st Mandovi Parivar Rolling Trophy, inter-school football tournament, organised by Canacona Sports Academy in association with Jana Sena, defeating St Anthony’s HS, Galgibag in the final played at Nirakar Sports Complex, Mashem, on Thursday.
St Anne’s Institute started the match on the front foot and took the lead in the fifth minute through Branon Rodrigues.
Crossing ends, Branon doubled the lead in the 38th minute while Debendra Pun scored the third in the 57th minute.
Pavesh Komarpant was the chief guest for the final and gave away the prizes in the presence of Pankaj Desai, Deitan Luies and Milroy Fernandes. St Tereza of Jesus HS, Chaudi won the third place.
