AGONDA: St Anne’s Institute Agonda-Canacona won the U-14 Boys Inter-School Football Tournament, defeating Mount Mary’s High School, Chinchinim 4-1 in the South District final. The tournament was organised by DSYA at Govt. Sports Complex, Dharmapur..
They now qualified for the State finals which will be played against North District winner.
In the early minutes of the game Dickson Fernandes scored the first goal for the winners. In the second half Rabi Pun increased the lead by 2-0. Mean time Mount Mary pulled a goal back. But St. Anne’s continued to attack and with their inform front line– Dickson Fernandes and Rabi Pun they scored two more goals as both the strikers netted a goal each to complete their braces.
