The teams displayed attacking brand of soccer and kept the crowd on their toes. St Anthony enjoyed slight edge over their opponents in both the sessions.
The first chance came in the fifth minute when striker Jaison Dias outpaced his markers and unleashed a snap shot, but Cuncolim Union goalkeeper Bablu Zore affected a superlative save to deny him a sure goal.
Cuncolim did not lag behind and came close but striker Daulat Dessai’s well executed shot was well blocked by St Anthony’s custodian.
Crossing over, St Anthony’s forwards were guilty of muffing gilt edged chances.
In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, Sunny Fernandes, Agnas Vas, Jaison Dias and Seby Fernandes scored for St Anthony while Adney Fernandes and Beston Colaco converted for Cuncolim Union.
