MARGAO: St Anthony SC, Assolda defeated SCC Loutolim 14-13 goals via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 34th Sao Jose de Areal Panchayat Cup football tournament organized by Sao Jose de Areal SC at Padribhat ground, Sao Jose de Areal, on Monday.
At the end of regulation time the teams failed to score.
In the first half, St Anthony in the 12th minute made an attempt through Seby Fernandes shot but it hit the goal post and went out of play off as pass by Agnes Vaz.
After that SCC Loutolim in the 24th minute also missed their try after Lawrence Fernandes header missed the nets of St Anthony off a cross by Mark Fernandes.
Post resumption, the teams tried to score the winner but the defenders guarded their forts.
In the resultant tie-breaker, St Anthony scored through Seby Fernandes (2), Agnes Vaz (1), Joseph Fernandes (1), Keneath Vaz (2), Vicky Fernandes (2), Johnson Fernandes (1), Christo Fernandes (2), Rachel Fernandes (1) and Rosario Fernandes (1) while SCC Loutolim netted through Lawrence Fernandes (2), Ihiban Fernandes (2), Oswald Dias (2), Melroy Fernades (1), Vicky Fernandes (1), Vicky Fernandes (1), Jack Fernandes (2) and John Pinheiro (2).
