The high light of the day was a brilliant brace by Colva goalkeeper Allister D’Silva.
St Anthony Sports Club enjoyed the better share of exchanges and ball possessions and pushed their opponents on the back-foot. St Anthony Sports Club’s opening goal came in the seventh minute when Colva goalkeeper Allister D’Silva’s well-executed goal-kick eluded the rival goalkeeper.
The early goal helped Colva lads to assert supremacy in the midfield with their forwards and working in tandem to put the rival defence into disarray.
Navelim Sporting Club’s usual attacking flair was missing today and they were a subdued lot and struggled to contain the rival rampaging forwards.
St Anthony Sports Club put the issue beyond doubt and in the 15th minute again Allister D’Silva’s well-executed free-kick beat the human wall and the goalkeeper, 2-0.
Post resumption, St Anthony Sports Club slackened their pace and allowed their opponents to launch barrage of attacks.
St Anthony exerted pressure and finally managed to reduce the deficits in the 45th minute as veteran Domnic Cabral bulged the net.
St Anthony Sports Club, Colva will now meet St Rock Youth Club, Calata-Majorda in the final, on August 31.
