RAIA: In an exciting match, St Anthony SC, Colva, edged past Navelim Sporting Club 6-5 via tie-breaker to sail into quarter-finals of the Lourdes Festival –
all-Goa inter-village football tournament organised by United Club of Utorda, at SAG ground, Utorda.
In the 3rd minute, Navelim SC’s Velinto Almeida foiled an opportunity to score. In 22nd minute, Navelim SC scored through the boots of Danon Vaz by misleading the St Anthony SC keeper with a fine tap into the goal.
Changing over, St Anthony SC’s Kabir made no mistake and scored the much needed equaliser through a cross pass.
The score was 1-1 at the end of regulation time. In the resultant tie-breaker, Nelson, Kabir, Ronie, Samson, Jose were on target for St Anthony SC, while Nash, Doren, Aulon, Suraji netted for Navelim Sporting Club.
