RAIA: St Anthony SC, Assolda blanked United SC Seraulim 2-0 to move into the final of 19th Uguem Rising Club Soccer Trophy Golden Jubilee played at Uguem ground, on Sunday.
In first session of the play, St Anthony SC and United SC Seraulim tried to find the net. Soon, Sunny Fernandes of St Anthony SC in 20 minute of the game ran down and took a powerful shot which hit the target giving 1-0 lead before the half time.
In second half of the match, United SC Seraulim went all out in search of an equaliser but failed to hit the target as St Anthony SC goalkeeper Alwyn Faria was instrumental in making some good saves.
As match progress, Vitorinho Fernandes added another goal in the 45 minute to seal the game and making way for the final to clash with Sao Jose de Areal on November 12, on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Piety.
The man-of-match award was presented to Sunny Fernandes of St Anthony SC by Remedios Gomes, former footballer of Uguem Rising Club.
Earlier, Sao Jose de Areal defeated Uguem Rising Club 5-4 via tie-breaker to move into the final.
Ashnoy Gomes and Navil Fernandes missed chances to score for Sao Jose de Areal in the 3rd and 6th minute respectively. Then Flezer Gomes shot wide for Uguem Rising Club in the 36th minute.
At the end of the regulation time both teams settled for a goalless draw.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Sao Jose de Areal proved to be better shooters 5-4. The man-of-the-match trophy was presented to Alistor Monteiro of Sao Jose de Areal by Santan Gomes, former Uguem Rising Club player.
