MAPUSA: St Anthony High School, Guirim got the better of Little Flower High School Calangute 4-1 to move into the semi-finals of the U-14 Subroto Mukherjee football tournament organised by DYSA at Peddem Sports Complex, Mapusa, on Friday.
Tyron Fernandes netted the first goal for Guirim but Vasu Redkar of Calangute found the equaliser.
In the tie-breaker, St Anthony High School, Guirim, netted through Tyron Fernandes, Nathane Fernandes and Prathamesh Parsekar no one scored for Little Flower High School, Calangute.
In other matches, St Britto’s High School, Mapusa defeated Mae De Deus High School, Corjuem 5-1 and moved into the semi-finals. St.Ann’s High School, Thivim defeated St Theresa’s High School, Candolim 5-4 to move into the semi-finals.
In another match, St Joseph’s High School, Arpora edged past St.Joseph’s High School, Calangute, 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals.
