NAVELIM: St Anthony’s SC, Colva moved into the semi-finals on Thursday after defeating Parish Youth Nuvem 4-3 via the tie-breaker of the 38th Gold Silver trophy tournament, at Rosary ground, Navelim .
Both teams began their attacking force in a well planned team spirit creating some scoring chances into the rival defence.
In the 10th minute St Anthony’s Godfrey Mascarenhas passed the ball to Fanslen Pereira but his shot was saved by the Nuvem keeper Lawrence Dias. St Anthony came near to score in the 15th minute when Candido Vaz sent in a beautiful pass to Kabir Khan who shot wide off the post.
After the lemon break both teams created some chances but were not up to the mark as a result the full-time score remained goalless.
In the tie-breaker, St Anthony netted through Ronny Fernandes, Kabir Khan, Clifford Fernandes and Calbert Fernandes while Niclau Colaco and Dogley Fernandes netted through Parish Youth Nuvem.
