MAPUSA/RAIA: St Anthony’s SC, Marna-Siolim, registered a hard-fought 2-1 win over Arpora Sporting Club in the GFA’s U-17 Division II League match played at Poriat ground, Calangute, on Friday.
All the goals came in the second session of play.
It was Arpora Sporting Club that took the lead through the boots of Akhil Govind. St Anthony’s SC colts got their acts together to find Alvato D’Souza score a neat placement to level terms, 1-1. When it looked the match was ending in a 1-1 draw, Enron Mascarenhas scored the match-winning goal for St Anthony’s SC to return home with three points. Vasco City S&CC downed Parish Youth Association, Consua, 2-0 at Nagoa Panchayat ground. Anston Gonsalves and Shravan Bhagwat netted a goal each for Vasco City S&CC.
At Dramapur football ground, Salcete FC moved past Futebol Club YFA 2-1. Sandey Andrade and Steven Gomes scored a goal each for Salcete FC, while Yohann Souza reduced the margin for Futebol Club YFA.
