NERUL: St Auguistias Sports Club Pomburpha blanked Nerul Sports Club 3-0 and moved into the quarter-final of the Nerul Sports Club Golden Jubilee Cup, at Nerul ground, on Sunday.
Nerul SC were in thick of action from the word go and tested the rival keeper in the second minute when Chaitan Dabholikar on receiving a pass from midfield tried his luck from distance but his power-packed shot was blocked by Pomburpa keeper. In the 23rd minute, St Augustias Sports Club finally broke the deadlock from a quick counter which was scored by Anthony Fernandes. Once up by a goal they took the control of the game and within minutes doubled the account through Rupesh Patil who was assisted by Akshay Naik.
St Auguistias SC netted their third though Anthony, who completed his brace in the 29th minute.
