PANJIM St Domnic Savio SC scored a narrow 2-1 win over Augustias SC in the GFA Third Division League (Bardez Zone) played at Nachinola ground, on Sunday.
St Domnic Savio started the match on the front foot and they didn’t take long to convert their domination into lead as Charles Fernandes gave his side a well deserved eighth minute lead. The goal stunned the opponents Augustias SC who fought back strongly.
Augustias player pressed for the equalising goal but St Domnic Savio defended well to go into breather with a one-goal cushion.
Changing side, Augustias managed to draw level in the 53rd minute through Samuel Faia. With scores level, both teams fought to score the much needed goal, but it was St Domnic Savio who prevailed in the 70th minute when they scored through Vijay Gosawi. Augustias tried to find the equalising goal but their strikers failed to convert their chances.
At Chapora ground, a strike each from Marvoti and Nayan Virnodcar helped Cunchelim SC score a comfortable 2-0 win over Peddem Bomm SC. There was no score at the break. Both the goals were scored in the second half.
