CURCHOREM: St Joseph, Goval-Avedem defeated Manmod Boyz, Quineabhat 3-0 to clinch the Quineabhat Trophy, organised by Manmod Boyz, at Quineabhat ground, recently.
The teams attacked from the word go and kept the crowd on their toes. Both teams struggled in the first quarter to get a shot on target. However, St Joseph eventually succeeded in taking the lead in the 20th minute through Milton Menezes. The winners led 1-0 at the break.
Post resumption, St. Joseph continued their dominance over Manmod Boyz and increased their tally through their striker Ryan Menezes.
Stunned by the setback, Manmod Boyz went all out to neutralize the deficit but to failed to score as they could not get past the rival defenders who stood tall in protecting their lead.
As the match progressed, St Joseph increased their pace and troubled the rival defense with well-orchestrated raids and added their third through Fedrich Menezes.
St Joseph were richer by Rs.12,000 while Manmod Boyz had to be content with Rs 8,000.

Quepem MLA and Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of newly elected Xeldem ZP member Sidharth Dessai, Avedem Sarpanch Alleluia Alphonso, Solomon Diniz and Gajanand Prabhudessai.
