RAIA: St Jude’s HS, of Betalbatim, King’s HS of Sao Jose de Areal, OL of Rosary HS of Fatorda and Loyola HS of Margao registered wins over their opponents to cruise into the second round of the U-14 Subroto Mukherjee Salcete Taluka football tournament played at Dramapur football ground on Wednesday.
In the first match, St. Jude’s HS defeated Mt. Mary’s HS of Chinchinim 4-1 via the tie-breaker. OL of Rosary HS, Fatorda defeated OL of Lourdes HS of Utorda by 4-0. Ayan Kadar scored a brace while Velloyd Pinto and Yash Langote scored a goal each. In the third match, Loyola HS hammered OL of Snow’s HS, Raia 8-1. Reubon Barbosa scored a fine hat-trick followed by a brace by Shelloyd Sequeira and a goal each by Macvin Fernandes, Joseph D’Costa and Irwin Faleiro.
In the fourth match – The King’s HS blanked St Joseph HS, Aquem 4-0. Elrad Braganza scored a brace while Shurya Verenkar and Aarrav Da Costa netted a goal each.
