AGASSAIM: St. Mathews SC thrashed Carambolim SC 6-2 in the Third Division League (Ilhas Zone) match played, at Agassaim ground, on Sunday.
Besides the large number of goals, the game also witnessed 6 yellow cards and 2 red. Carambolim SC we’re the first to strike at goal as they netted in through Sohan Padhe in the 10th minute itself.
Olvin Cardozo of St. Mathew’s added two goals in the 19th and 39th minute. Fransisco D’Costa added another before half time to give them a 3-1 lead at half time.
Switching over, Carambolim pulled one down through Anthony Pereira in the 50th minute. Olvin Cardozo added two more to his earlier two in the first half. Anthony Pereira of added another late goal in the 81st minute.
Earlier in the 65th minute, Selveno Gonsalves of St. Mathew’s and Francis Rebello were sent off in the 65th minute reducing both teams to ten men.
