CHANDOR: St Rita, Maina blanked UK London 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 17th Villa Marex Chandor Seamen football tournament, at Villa Marex ground, Chandor on Friday.
UK London’s Henson Rebello and Valmiki Alfonso missed chances to score in the tenth and twelfth minutes respectively. St Rita’s Maina changed the game plan in the second half and netted through Perryson Fernandes in the 38th minute. In the 44th minute, St Rita doubled the lead through Desmond Pereira. St Rita Maina will meet Carribean Boys in the quarter-finals on September 19.
