AKAR-MARDOL: St Rock, Ponda edged past Jai Hanuman 2-1 via the tie-breaker to lift the late Shree Vaikunth Naik Memorial trophy in the 4-a-side All Goa football tournament organised by Akar Boys at Akar-Mardol ground, recently.
Both halves remained goalless.
In the resultant tie-breaker, St Rock, Ponda netted through Melvin and Rowan while only Vaibhav scored for Jai Hanuman.
The winners were awarded Rs 10,000 while the runners-up received Rs 5,000 plus trophies. Sandeep Naik was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners up in the presence of Gauresh Khandeparkar, Nikhil Naik and other dignitaries.
