PANJIM: St Roque Sports Club, Majorda got the better of SCC, Loutolim 5-4 via the tie-breaker to enter the semi-final of Fr Agnelo Youth inter-village football tournament, organized by Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda, at panchayat ground, Avedem-Paroda, on Sunday.
The teams failed to score in the regulation period.St Roque Sports Club, Majorda held the upper hand in the first session.
Their forwards and midfielders working in tandem to put the rival defence into disarray with some attacking moves.
However, their persistent raids failed to bear any fruit with the Loutolim team standing their ground.
In the second session, the Loutolim team dominated the game and kept their opponents on defensive but failed to break the deadlock.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Sadikh Ahmed, Remediano Baretto, Claudio Dias and Bonaventure Pacheco were accurate in placing the ball in the nets for St Rogue Sports Club, Majorda while Volvey Vaz, Alloysius Cardozo, Sandeep Kunde and Zico Rodrigues scored for Loutolim.
St Roque Sports Club, Majorda will now meet St Anthony Sports Club, Assolda in the first semi-final.
