AMBELIM: St Rock Youth Club, Majorda edged past United Club of Benaulim 7-5 in the ongoing Lourdes Soccer Cup, organised by Ambelim Sports Club, at Ambelim ground, on Wednesday.
St Rock YC Majorda shot into the lead in the 10th minute through Joysile Fernandes. Crossing ends, St Rock doubled the lead through Ismail Pathan in the 33rd minute. UC Benaulim regrouped and pulled a goal back through Keagan Rodrigues in the 35th minute. St Rock’s Josley Dias made issues safe for the Majorda team scoring the team’s third to make it 3-1.
But there was plenty of drama left as Paulin D’Silva scored a well deserved brace to draw level. In the tie-breaker, St Rock proved to be better shooters.
