St Rock’s Youth ease past St Anthony’s SC

Carmel SC edge past Sirvodem SC 2-1; Holiday SC thump Guirim Youth CSC 4-0; Augustias SC beat Bastora United SCC

PANJIM: St Rock’s Youth Club Majorda scored a comfortable 4-1 win over St Anthony’s Club Colva in the Goa Football Associations Third Division League played at Dando ground, Benaulim, on Thursday.
St Anthony’s Colva played a good first half and initially dominated the match with constant attacks on the rival citadel. Their hard work bore fruits as they were successful in gaining the lead through Francis Pauskar in the 19th minute.
The Majorda side tried their level best in order to get past the rival defenders but were not able to get the desired breakthrough as the first half ended with the Colva side leading by 1-0.
Post resumption, the Colva side fell back in order to defend their lead, however, the Majorda side came up with attacking moves in order to find the equaliser with Ismail Phatan and Rolland Fernandes trying to make their way past the rival defenders.
Their hard work paid off as Flesbon Ferrao netted the equaliser in the 57th minute and took lead in the 64th minute through Rolland Fernandes.
It didn’t stop there as the Majorda side were hungry for more goals and managed to slot two quick goals through the boots of Alpkas Phatan and Ismail Pathan in the 73rd and 75th minutes respectively as the match ended 4-1 in favour of St Rocks YC Majorda.
In another match at Artificial turf ground, Fatorda, Carmel Sporting Club scored a narrow 2-1 win over Sirvodem Sports Club.
Carmel SC got the match underway and dominated the proceedings as they scored twice in the first half through Joevin Costa and Roysten Coutinho.
The scoreboard read 2-0 in favour of Carmel Sporting Club.
After the breather the Sirvodem side put up a great show and soon narrowed down the margin with Clinton Vaz scoring in the 51st minute, however, failed to find the equaliser as the match ended 2-1 in favour of Carmel SC.
Elsewhere at Tembi ground, Anjuna, Holiday Sports Club thumped Guirim Youth and Cultural Sports Club 4-0.
Saish Palienkar opened the scoring for Holiday Sports Club in the 17th minute while Sachin Moraskar scored a brace to make it 3-0 before the teams went into the breather.
Post resumption, Prutumesh Reduckar scored to take the tally to 4-0.
In another match, Augustias Sporting Club defeated Bastora United Sports and Cultural Club 5-4. 
Augustias SC opened the scoring in the match and netted three goals in the first half through DavidPereira, Lincio Pinto and Kundar Mayekar however the Bastora side bounced back and pulled back two goals through Sanjay Mayekar before going into the breather.
Post resumption, Jovel Martins equalised for the Bastora side in the 54th minute.
Later, Augustias SC netted two more goals through David Pereira and Bendon Faia to make it 5-3.
Bastora side fought back but managed to only pull a goal back through Siddesh Palkar before the final whistle.
