St Savio down Saligao United

St. Savio Sports Club, Calangute came from behind to beat Saligao United 4-2 and book their place in the semi-finals of St. Savio Rolling Trophy football tournament at Calangute Association ground on Tuesday.
Saligao got a perfect start and took the lead early in the 4th minute through Clayton Rodrigues. Hardly had the cheers died down, Calangute levelled the score through Stanley Carvalho off an Agostinho cross to make it 1-1 in the 6th minute.
Nestor Dias once again gave Saligao the lead in the 16th minute for a 2-1 score. Down in arrears, Calangute fought well and restored parity in the 23rd minute through Vijay Parsekar off Raj Kumar Naik.
With the scores level at 2-all, Saligao mounted pressure on Calangute defence but could not find the mark.
Calangute snatched the lead in the 23rd minute of the second half through M A Francis off Remy. Down 2-3, Saligao fought well but were unable to come on level terms.
Calangute consolidated the lead through Cliff Fernandes off Francis in the closing stages of the match for a 4-2 score.
