MAPUSA: St Savio’s SC had an easy outing as they registered a well-deserved 3-0 win over Albert Developers SC in the GFA’s Division I League North Zone match played at Parra ground, on Saturday.
The beachside team started brightly and in the 34th minute, Latesh Mandrekar on receiving an intelligent pass from Andrew John placed the ball into the far corner of the goal 1-0.
At the other end, Albert Developers SC had chance to level terms but Rajat Chopdekar strike was saved by rival goalkeeper.
On crossing ends, both teams played almost on equal footing.
Another glorious chance went a begging for Albert Developers SC, where a well-executed free-kick by Joel Fernandes missed the target narrowly.
In the added time of the match, St Savio SC’s pumped in two more goals in the 91st and 94th minutes.
A free-kick by Latesh Mandrekar deflected off the rival defender to find Mcquel D’Souza find the net, 2-0.
Hardly had the cheers died down, Vikram moved dangerously inside the penalty box and set up the ball to Shubham Dessai, who coolly tapped the ball into the goal 3-0.
