MAPUSA: St Savio Sports Club scored a comfortable 3-1 win over A A de Moira in the Geno-Goa Football Association 1st Division League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Friday.
The winners led 1-0 at break after Flan Gomes gave St Savio SC the lead in the 23rd minute. Crossing over, the game was resorted to midfield battle. However, in the final 10 minutes of the games, three more goals were scored. Richard Cardozo doubled the account for St Savio in the 81st minute. After much probing A A de Moira pulled a goal back in the 90th minute through Rudresh Tendulkar. With a bid to find the equalising goal, A A de Moira charged and played attacking game adding extra men to their attack. However, they conceded the third when St Savio’s Amar Govekar scored to kill any hope of a comeback.
St Savio’s Flan Gomes was named as the Man-of-the-Match.
