CALANGUTE: St Savio Sports Club, Calangute blanked Augustias Sporting Club, Pomburpa 3-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 17th Vagator 2015 All Goa inter-village football tournament organised by Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club, at Ozrant ground, Vagator, on Wednesday. St Savio led 1-0 at half time.
St Savio took an early lead in the 3rd minute with the efforts of Pedro Gonsalves.
Trailing by a goal, Augustias fought back and could have levelled the score in the 27th minute but Pundalik Naik’s shot hit the cross bar and went out of play.
Blake Haldankar almost made it 2-0 for St Savio but his shot hit the post and rebound into play. After changing ends, Mario Lobo headed into the net beating the rival keeper to give St Savio a 2-0 lead. Sadanand Korgaonkar completed the tally in the 55th minute.
