The junior Golden Eagles surged ahead in the 36th minute when St Savio keeper Dietmar Fernandes failed to collect a lethal cross from Pristo Dias inside the box and the ball rolled to Norman Dias who banged the ball into the back of the net making it 1-0 for his side.
On changing the sides, St Savio came out stronger and quickly found the equaliser in the 52nd minute when Sanket brilliantly put the ball in the back of the nylons off Ashley Lobo’s well-taken corner to make it all square for the Calangute side.
A few minutes later, Dempo came with a swift attack as Brivon Dias tried his luck from the distance but his curling shot was tipped for a corner by keeper Dietmar.
At the other end, Dempo keeper was also in the action as he made a brilliant effort to clear Ashley’s 30-yard free kick, while a minute later, Siddharth Shirodkar’s goal-bound header off Ashley’s corner was cleared off the goal-line by Dempo defender Kidron.
After some probing attacks, St Savio finally succeeded to take the lead in the 71st minute when an exceptional through pass from Sanket saw Shashank Naik easily cut past the on-rushing keeper Manjunath and calmly placed the ball home making it 2-1 for St Savio.
