PANJIM: St Savio Sports Club made light work of Don Bosco Oratory Panjim 3-1 in the Goa Football Association U-16 League match played at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Panjim, on Tuesday.
Despite playing underage football, both sides put up a commendable performance displaying skills and good attacking play as the sides showed the hunger and urge to score goals.
Don Bosco Oratory were the first to score in the 21st minute through Joaquim Rodrigues. However, St Savio were soon on level terms in the 26th minute, thanks to Meesan Gadagkar.
With the scores levelled, the teams had to start all over again, as they kept pressing for the goal.
St Savio finally managed to take the lead in the first half injury time through Gaurav Arolkar as they led 2-1 at the breather.
Crossing over, St Savio scored their third in the 55th minute through Jovito Fernandes.
Don Bosco tried their best to get back in the game but they couldn’t get past the strong rival defence.
