MARGAO: St Savio Sports Club registered a fluent 5-0 win over Rossman Cruz Sports Club to cruise into the quarter-finals of All Goa 41st HG-NRB Bandodkar memorial inter-village football tournament organized by Baina Sports Club, at MPT ground, Vasco, on Tuesday.
St Savio Sports Club led 3-0 at half time.
St Savio Sports Club dominated the game right from the word go and virtually toyed with the rival defence with ease.
Rossman Cruz Sports could not do much to restrict the opponents and also failed to penetrate the vival defence.
St Savio broke the deadlock when Charles Dias slotted past the rival goalkeeper.
As the match progressed, Rossman Cruz Sports Club struggled more to contain the rival attackers and surrounded their challenge meekly. Man-of-the-match Pedro Gonsalves doubled the lead with stiff grounder. Thereafter, it was one way traffic for St Savio Sports Club attackers as they swarmed all over the rival territory.
Karsten Fernandes put the issue beyond doubt with the third goal of the match.
After the break, there was no respite for Rossman Cruz Sports Club as their opponents attacked from both the flanks. Substitute Agnelo Fernandes and Rajkumar Naik scored the fourth and fifth goal of the match respectively.
