MAPUSA: Host St. Savio’s Sports Club, Calangute drubbed St. Anthony Sports Club, Marna 7-0 to move into the final of the Late Anthony & Santana Carvalho Memorial Cup, at Poriat ground, on Friday.
The Calangute outfit dictated terms right from the start and went into the breather leading 3-0.
Calangute broke the deadlock as Namresh Kundikar scored off a corner kickin the 21st minute.
Two minutes later, Calangute doubled their lead through Runaal Shirodkar with a neat placement after a defensive error.
In the 29th minute, Calangute’s Namresh Kundikar scored his brace with a clinical finish to make it 3-0.
On resumption, St. Anthony’s had a chance to reduce the margin but Dalesh Pednekar shot wide from close range.
As the match progressed, Calangute’s Domnic Fernandes netted a brace with a 30-yard curling shot and a clinical finish to make it 5-0.
Calangute’s hunger for goals did not end as Runaal Shirodkar and Namresh Kundikar pumped in two more goals to complete the rout.
St. Savio’s Calangute will now meet Anjuna Gymkhana in the final on August 19 at Poriat ground.
