COLVALE: St Sebastian Sports Club had to wait for the penalty shootout before they got the better of St Anthony SC Marna by 6-5 margin to advance ahead in the 14th Late Pio Jose Goveia Memorial Cup organized by YSC Colvale played at Colvale church ground here on Thursday.
The teams were locked in a 2-2 draw at the end of the regulation time.
In the 15th minute Dalesh Pednekar gave Marna side the lead with a neat placement 1-0.
Just five minutes later Patrick D’Souza scored the equalizer from a goal mouth melee 1-1.
Once again Dalesh Pednekar scored his brace from outside the penalty box for Marna.
In the 60th minute St Sebastian Sports Club’s Shailesh Misquin equalised with a thundering long drive beating keeper Francis Fernandes hands down. 2-2.
In the penalty shoot-out St Sebastian Mapusa won by 4-3 margin.
