MAPUSA: St Sebastian Boys, Orda managed to edge past Take it Easy, Aradi 2-1 and advance ahead in the Candolim inter-ward football tournament organised by Young Boys of Aradi, at Candolim ground, on Friday.
In the 10th minute, Ashley got hold off a cross from Caitan and placed the ball past the on rushing Aradi keeper Rahul to give his side the lead.
Against the run of play, Aradi’s Sagar unleashed a power-packed shot from almost the center of the ground giving no chance to Orda keeper Cajetan to score the equaliser.
In the dying minutes, John guided the ball into the goal to give Orda the win.
In the second match, YBA also managed to edge past Young Boys of Camotim 3-2.
In the fifth minute, Meldryn D’Souza tapped the ball into Aradi net off a cross by Webster DeSouza to give the lead.
Three minutes later, YBA equalised with the ball deflecting of Camotim goalkeeper Joe boy into the net.
In the 28th minute, Sudhir Gawas scored for YBA off a through cross from Sunil Bandodkar to make it 2-1.
Sudhir Gawas dribbled past a couple of Camotim defenders and placed the ball to the right of the keeper to make it 3-1.
In the 45th minute, Camotim were awarded a penalty when Vinay Pednekar handled the ball inside the penalty box. Camotim’s Modson scored.
