VELSAO: St Thomas High School, Cansaulim, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, Cortalim moved in the final of U-14 Subroto Mukherjee football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at DSYA ground, Velsao, on Tuesday.
In the first match, St. Thomas High School, Cansaulim edged past Deepvihar High School, Sada,Vasco 2-1.
In the first half, both the teams tried to take the lead but both the defences stood firm to defend their goal.
In the second half, Deepvihar’s Rudrash Naik gave his side the lead in the 27th minute. Isaiah Dias scored the equaliser for St. Thomas High School, Cansaulim in the 30th minute. It was Isaiah Dias with his second goal who regained the lead for St. Thomas High School in the 35th minute.
In the second match, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Cortalim downed Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim 2-0. In the second half, Ashwel Mendes took the lead for Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, Cortalim in the 28th minute. Freden Mendes doubled the lead in the 37th minute.
The final will be played on July 20 at DSYA ground, Velsao at 9.30 am.
