PANJIM: St Xavier’s Academy, Old Goa and Disha School, Panjim won the Unified 5-a side Futsal Tournament at the Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim, on Sunday.
The tournament witnessed a colossal showdown between the teams which concluded the two day event with an exhibition match and prize distribution ceremony at the hands of Goa’s honoured FC Goa players.
The teams put on a final display of their skills to test as they battled for victory in Sunday’s final round. The male team gold medallists were St Xavier’s Academy, Old Goa and Disha School Panjim, and in the female category it was School For Appropriate Learning that clinched the gold.
While in second place saw the male teams of Sanjay Center for Education, Porvorim and School For Appropriate learning bagged the silver and Peace Haven, Caranzalem in the female category.
The third place was secured by the male teams of Sanjay Center for Education, Curchorem and Keshav Seva Sadna, Valpoi while St. Xavier’s Academy for the female category.
The fourth place was bagged by the male team of Sanjay Center for Education, Vasco.
The players of FC Goa also interacted with the children as they played an exhibition match with the teams present at the tournament.
The prize distribution ceremony was also held at the hands of the players.
