AGENCIES, NEW DELHI: St Xavier’s HSS, Mapusa thumped Jawahar Matric HSS, Tamil Nadu 5-0 in their first match of the Subroto Cup football tournament in Delhi.
Fluino Carvalho put St Xavier’s into the lead through a well taken free-kick in the 17th minute.
Thereafter Madan Pomburphekar scored a brace. St Xavier’s led 3-0 at half-time.
In the second half, skipper Pratik Naik consolidated the lead and Saideep Pomburphekar rounded off the tally in the last minute of play.
