MAPUSA/RAIA: Sesa FA eves managed to halt FC Tuem’s winning run in the GFA Vedanta Women’s League with a 1-1 draw, played at Sirsaim ground, on Friday.
In the first leg meeting, FC Tuem had defeated Sesa FA by 2-0 margin.

It was Donea Fernandes who stunned their opponents as she scored for Sesa FA in the 22nd minute of play thus receiving the player-of-the-match award from the hands of Match Commissioner Shanker Kalangutkar.
On crossing over, in the 65th minute Nevilla Colaco managed to level terms for FC Tuem eves with a neat placement 1-1.
At Duler stadium, Vintage 73 SC registered a resounding 8-0 win over Sinquerim SC. Stessi Cardozo (4) and Pushpa Parab (3) did most of the damage, while Aqsa Sayed added her name to the scorer’s list.
At Rosary ground, Navelim, Compassion FC outplayed Cana Benaulim Sporting Association 6-2.
Pearl Fernandes, the young upcoming striker from Arambol netted a hat-trick for Compassion FC and was at her best in the frontline and for Cana Benaulim Sporting Association, midfielder Clency Miranda gave her best and missed chances to score too.
Both teams played a brand of soccer in front of nearly 500 spectators.
Compassion FC netted the first goal of the match through Prissy Pereira but it didn’t take long for Cana Benaulim to equalise in the 18th minute through Clency Miranda.
Then it was Pearl Fernandes of Compassion FC, who started firing from close range and netted in the 37th minute. After that Fatima Braganza of Compassion FC too added her name on the scoresheet and made it 3-1 in the 45th minute.
As the match progressed in the second half, Pearl fired two more goals in the 55th and 59th minutes. Then substitute Zuriel Tavares of Compassion made it 6-1 in the 68th minute.
While Valarian Jada Fernandes of Cana Benaulim made it 2-6 in the 80th minute.
