MARGAO: A triple strike by striker Steve Fernandes helped Social Cultural Club of Loutolim rout Shiroda Youth Club 6-0 in Group F of Salcete Zone GFA Third Division football league, at Camurlim ground, Monday. Loutolim led 3-0 at half time.
Steve Fernandes scored a quick brace while Hansen Cardozo increased the tally before the break.
Crossing over, Frazier Cardozo, Jeslon Fernandes scored while Steve secured his hat-trick in the 85th minute.
In a Group B match, at SAG ground, Assolna, Sports Welfare Centre, Zaino rallied from behind to hold Cuncolim Union in a 2-2 draw.
Cuncolim Union took the lead in the fifth minute through Leander D’Cunha but Sports Welfare Centre neutralized in the 50th minute through Quinston Dias.
Stunned by the equalizer, Cuncolim Union went into attacking mode and in the 66th minute Jerome Dias put Cuncolim Union into the lead again. However, their joy was short-lived when Alario Fernandes’s free-kick eluded both, the human wall and goalkeeper.
In Group C at Rosary ground, Mandopa Sporting Club thrashed Dramapur SC 4-1.
In Bardez zone, St Anthony SC, Marna and FC Siolim played a 1-1 draw at Siolim ground.
