MARGAO: Sucaldem Youth Club blanked Sarzora Sports Club 2-0 to storm into the final of Chinchinim inter-ward football tournament organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers at church ground, Chinchinim on Wednesday.
Sucaldem Youth Club led 1-0 at the break. Sucaldem held the upper hand in the opening session and pushed their opponents on the back foot. Persistent forays paid of the dividends when Alliot Antao slotted past the rival goalkeeper with snap shot.
Stung by setback, Sarzora raised their tempo but failed to get past the rival rearguard.
After resumption, Sarzora continued in same vein with their forwards and midfielder working in tandem to put the rival defence into disarray. Sanjay Menezes sealed the rival fate late in the second half when he punished the rival defence with clinical finish.
