PANJIM: An half century scored by Sumet Charan helped Noorani Sports and Cultural Club to register a 95-run victory against Mashem Cricket Club in the South Zone ‘A’ Division cricket tournament organised by Goa Cricket Association at MCC ground, Margao, on Friday.
Mashem won the toss and elected to bowl. Noorani in their inning accumulated 176 runs losing seven wickets in 30 overs. Sumet charan 52, Aniket Naik 30 n.o., Prashanth Kore 21 n.o. and Sarfraz Ahmed 23 excelled for the team. Vinesh Satarkar 2/43, Sagar Kore 2/16, Durgesh Prabhugaonkar 1/26, Abhilash Raikar 1/34 and Taranjitsingh Dhillan 1/30 tried to keep a hold on the rival rampaging batsmen.
Chasing the target, Mashem were easily demolished at 81 all out in 23.1 overs. Durgesh Prabhugaonkar 17, Yash Prabhugaonkar 13 and Aman Komarpanth 14 n.o. performed well. Badi Uz Zaman 2/14, Prashanth Kore 2/9, Parshuram Chalwadi 2/7, Uday Patil 2/14 and Dheeraj Yadav 1/9 were the wrecker-in-chiefs.
Noorani SCC will take on Karimabad in semi-final.
